The exhibition entitled “Salam In the City” is set to run from February 25th until
March 4th 2006. The Artspace Gallery, renowned for its promotion of contemporary art, located at the Fairmont Hotel in Dubai U.A.E will play host to the exhibition, media and dignitaries.

Salam In The City, a refreshing look at a universal message of peace, features a rare collaboration of contrasting styles, representing Islamic and spiritual art through a unique urban art style and contemplative photographic imagery, all of which are intended to “awaken the soul”.

The art of Mohammed Ali, has been described by various media as the “British Artist spreading a universal message”. His unique take on Islamic Art, influenced by urban-street graffiti fused with Islamic calligraphy, results in a form dubbed by the media as “urban spiritual art”. The collection is displayed alongside the work of renowned photographer Peter Sanders, known for his iconic photography, before converting to Islam, of rock n roll legends Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix. His work now encompasses imagery captured throughout the Muslim world, from
Saudi Arabia to China described as “Insprirational…..evoking a response from the soul”.

This major work is commissioned by HSBC Amanah in association with the Arts Council of England, to bring this unique exhibition to the Arab region for the first time. The exhibition is intended for people of all faiths and cultures, communicating a new language of peace for all in any city.~
