Canada Muslimfest 2008, and Ryerson Univ…

I have just returned from Canada, after painting in Mississauga (near Toronto) and Ryerson University in downtown Toronto. I was sponsored by Muslimfest, which pulls a crowd of 7000+ people, and the British Consulate in Canada. Despite heavy rain, i managed to complete both pieces til I was satisfied (which is very rare!) The Muslimfest piece read Al Ukhuwwa translating as Brotherhood, Brotherhood

and the Ryerson university piece read Rise Up – translating as Rise Up! This piece will eventually be housed within the Ryerson University student centre in Gould Street, Toronto.

Aerosol Arabic & Crooked Rib at Melbourne Arts Fest

Collaborating with UK-based artist Aerosol Arabic, as part of the Melbourne International Arts festival, Melburnians can experience the creation of a whole new vernacular in stencil art. Together and over the course of the Festival, Crooked Rib & Aerosol Arabic will create a mural that is a powerful collaboration around ideas of difference and the mutual interest to challenge cultural misconceptions and celebrate identity.
